Saints Peter and Paul

An Apostolate of the Society of Christ

SS Peter and Paul - exteriorSS Peter and Paul - interior

Originally founded as a Polish National parish, Saints Peter and Paul fell under the leadership of the Benedictine Order. The last Benedictine pastor was transferred in 1981, and the church became a station church of Holy Rosary. On October 3 1983, Rev. Wladyslaw Gowin, S.Chr., Provincial of the Society of Christ, met with Archbishop Hunthausen, and the Archbishop agreed to establish a Polish Ministry in Tacoma with one provision: that the Society of Christ would provide a priest.

In 2008 Saints Peter and Paul celebrated the 25th anniversary of the presence of the Society of Christ.

Saints Peter and Paul is a Polish-American parish that welcomes, respects, and embraces all members of the community. Our mission is to promote spiritual growth to all generations through the celebration of the sacraments, Christian education, spiritual, and social events. We encourage all parishioners and members of the community to be disciples of the Gospel message through prayer and good deeds.
