Holy Cross

The parish was established by the Most Reverend Edward J. O’Dea, Bishop of Seattle, on January 2, 1915. The first Mass was offered in the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Kruzic by Reverend Aloysius Mlinar.
Holy Cross School was built in the Summer of 1916 and was staffed by the Dominican Sisters. The School closed in 1977.
In 1919, under the guidance of Reverend Theodore Ryan, the present Rectory was built. The upper floor of the school was used for the celebration of Mass until May, 1921. In 1921 the temporary church was built and served the parish until December 1, 1957 when the present church was dedicated.
